JUST IN: Japanese Prime Minister Abe wants to personally visit PDuterte’s home in Davao says Andanar

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe wants to drop by the home of President Rodrigo Duterte in Davao City when he visits the Philippines this week, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said.

“The Prime Minister said na gusto niyang bisitahin ang Davao City, si Presidente. Gusto niyang mapuntahan ang bahay ni Presidente Duterte, iyong bahay mismo sa Davao City. We expect a very, very warm—kumbaga, hindi lang ano ha, hindi lang strengthening of ties, but a very, very warm visit and a very, very warm welcome,” Andanar said Tuesday (Jan. 10) in an interview with Radyo Singko.
Duterte owns a simple-looking house in Davao City. It is where he stays whenever he flies to his hometown.
Abe, who is the first head of state to visit the country under the Duterte government, will arrive on Thursday (Jan. 12). He will be accorded an official welcome and a state banquet in Malacanang before he proceeds to Davao on Friday (Jan. 13).
Andanar said Duterte and Abe had become fast friends when they first met last year during the President’s state visit to Japan. [source]
