GOOSEBUMPS Trailer Brings R.L. Stine’s Frights and Delights to Life

Like many ‘90s kids, Goosebumps played an important role in developing my love for horror. Sure, I’d sneak and watch Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, and other classic films, but there was something special about R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps books. I remember hiding under my covers with a flashlight and devouring scary stories, putting myself in the kid protagonist’s place. Each page made the hairs stand up on my forearms as I waited with bated breath to see what happened next. I’m sure a few of you can relate to that experience, too. Now, we will get to step into that nostalgic space with Goosebumps, an upcoming Disney+ series with a very dark (literally) and fun new trailer.

This story follows a group of five high school kids who investigate the death of Harold Biddle, who died tragically in their hometown three decades prior. There’s also Nathan, the new English teacher who moved into the Biddle family’s old house. Like dude, never be the new person in town and don’t move into anyone’s abandoned murder house.

During this dangerous journey, the crew will discover new things about their parents as well. This is certainly going to take things in a different direction. The Goosebumps trailer reveals that the 10-episode series will draw from a few popular stories like “Say Cheese and Die,” Night of the Living Dummy,” and “The Haunted Mask,” among others. The use of Travis Scott’s “Goosebumps” song further cements this story in the present. It will surely invite a new generation of fans to get into these stories.

Disney+

Goosebumps hits Disney+ and Hulu on October 13 for their “Hallowstream” and “Huluween” celebrations, respectively. Fans will get the first five episodes with the remaining half streaming weekly. Freeform will also air the show’s first two episodes as a part of its “31 Nights of Halloween” programming. The Goosebumps trailer promises family friendly frights so everyone can have fun. Let’s see how well it captures the spirit of this famous franchise.
