A deep dive into a beloved and mysterious public figure is a dream come true for many journalists. That’s doubly true if the interview piece allows them to travel in style to a really cool compound. But, of course, horror’s job is to turn everything into a nightmare. That’s what we see in the trailer for A24’s Opus and, well, it is basically The Menu but with music.
The casting for this film is so, so fantastic. Ayo Edebiri can flow from drama to comedy to horror with the blink of an eye. And what better person to play a twisted pop legend than the legendary John Malkovich. Here’s a brief synopsis for Opus to accompany its trailer:
A young writer is invited to the remote compound of a legendary pop star who mysteriously disappeared thirty years ago. Surrounded by the star’s cult of sycophants and intoxicated journalists, she finds herself in the middle of his twisted plan.
What Is the Release Date for A24’s Opus?
