The New and Returning TV Shows We Can’t Wait to See in 2025

It is 2025 and we are ready to once again deliver unparalleled coverage of some of your favorite genre shows. Sure, things have been a bit, ahem, wild in the world since this decade began. But one thing that is absolutely going right is the ongoing slate of TV shows. (We will focus on the joy of great TV and not the sadness of premature cancellations by certain streaming services, alright?) This year is shaping up to be another epic one with Marvel dropping a slate of highly-anticipated animated and live-action series and more than a few of our favorite drama and fantasy shows coming back for another round. So, without further delay, here are the TV shows that we cannot wait to see in 2025.

January 2025 TV Shows

Mayfair Witches (Season 2)

Kicking off the year by returning back to Anne Rice’s live-action universe on AMC isn’t a bad idea at all. Mayfair Witches is coming back for another season to deal with the aftermath of Rowan Mayfair giving birth to a literal demon. Good times.

When & Where to Watch: January 5 on AMC and AMC+

Goosebumps: The Vanishing

The first season of Disney+’s live-action Goosebumps series was a pleasant surprise that blended several of R.L. Stine’s infamous scary stories together. While we won’t be returning to those characters, we will get some new action set in this chilling universe in a fresh season.

When & Where to Watch: January 10 on Disney+ and Hulu

Severance (Season 2)

Severance on Apple TV Plus is of the Best TV Shows of 2022
Apple TV+

This sci-fi psychological thriller series dropped its first season nearly three years ago in 2022. Since then, fans have been waiting very, very patiently for more episodes to arrive and now they are almost here! The series centers around a group of colleagues at Lumon Industries whose work and personal life memories are totally separate, thanks to a procedure.

When & Where to Watch: January 17 on Apple TV+

Watson

There can honestly never, ever be enough shows about Sherlock Holmes and/or Watson. This time, the latter (played by Morris Chestnut) takes the spotlight in a brand new series for CBS. The Watson series will show the Doctor’s life a year after Sherlock Holmes death as he opens a clinic to treat those with strange medical issues. This feels like a good opportunity to get back into appointment viewing on cable TV.

When & Where to Watch: January 26 on CBS

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

Marvel is kicking off its TV slate for 2025 with our fave neighborhood hero. Your Friendly Spider-Man will give us a fun story with the very nerdy Peter Parker as he swings around the city thwarting bad guys’ stupid plans. Spidey in animation is exactly what we need in the world right now.

When & Where to Watch: January 29 on Disney+

February 2025 TV Shows

Cobra Kai (Season 6, Part 3)

The New and Returning TV Shows We Can't Wait to See in 2025_1
Netflix

Cobra Kai is bringing its epic tale to an end this February. While it is always sad to see a series go, we can be thankful that it was allowed to complete its storyline. We cannot wait to see how everything plays out in these last few episodes.

When & Where to Watch: February 13 on Netflix

Yellowjackets (Season 3)

We’ve been hungry for more episodes (and cannibalism) for a long time. Now, we will return to those mysterious woods with the Yellowjackets crew to see how they will fare through a rough winter and into Spring. And, there’s also ample drama in the present day to contend with too. It’s time to howl and hold a bear heart to the sky.

When & Where to Watch: February 14 on SHOWTIME/Paramount+

Suits LA

Everybody wanna know how it feels to be a legal boss in a suit. Between its streaming run on Netflix and the wonderful woman known as Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, Suits found a whole new audience towards the end of its run and years afterward. The buzz was so great that there’s a whole spinoff series, Suits LA that will take the drama to the West Coast. We cannot wait to meet new characters and see Harvey Spector on screen once again.

When & Where to Watch: February 23 on Peacock

March 2025 TV Shows

Daredevil: Born Again

New look at Daredevil from Daredevil Born Again (1)

The Wheel of Time (Season 3)

The Wheel of Time will deliver new drama and expand its universe even further in season three. We welcome the powerful Aes Sedai back to our screens once again as the threats against the Light continue to compound.

When & Where to Watch: March 13 on Prime Video

April 2025 TV Shows

Andor (Season 2)

Andor season two title card
Lucasfilm

A few recent Star Wars shows didn’t quite land with us. But we really, really loved the first season of Andor and cannot wait for the next one! It gave us action, heartbreak, supreme character development, compelling storylines, and so much more.

When & Where to Watch: April 22 on Disney+

Devil May Cry

Netflix’s Devil May Cry doesn’t have a firm release date quite yet but we know that it is coming. The streamer had great success with bringing the gaming world of Castlevania to life, so perhaps we can expect the same when Devil May Cry drops. For those who are unfamiliar, it follows Dante, a demon hunter who has the fate of both the human and demon worlds at his fingertips. That’s a lotta pressure.

When & Where to Watch: April 2025 on Netflix

June 2025 TV Shows

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

Ser Duncan the Tall in raggedy clothes walks through a market in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
HBO

The live-action Game of Thrones universe continues to expand with yet another series. This one follows the infamous exploits of Dunk and Egg from the aptly titled George R.R. Martin novellas Tales of Dunk and Egg. It takes place prior to the events of Game of Thrones and will have yet another character named Aegon Targaryen. (Seriously, stop it.)

When & Where to Watch: June 15 on Max

Ironheart

Ironheart in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Marvel Studios

After what feels like an eternity, Riri “Ironheart” Williams origin series is finally coming out. Dominique Thorne will get the chance to fully dive into the backstory of Riri, an MIT student who returns to her native Chicago and gets herself into some trouble while perfecting her super suit. Ironheart is a newer comics character who had her first live-action appearance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Hopefully, this miniseries will affirm that she’s not the “female Tony Stark.”

When & Where to Watch: June 24 on Disney+

August 2025 TV Shows

Eyes of Wakanda

Eyes of Wakanda new image

This animated trip into the land of Wakanda will mark the first series of Phase Six when it drops. Developed by Ryan Coogler, Eyes of Wakanda will take us to different parts of the Sacred Timeline as Wakandan warriors seek to reclaim artifacts containing vibranium.

When & Where to Watch: August 6 on Disney+

Peacemaker (Season 2)

John Cena as Peacemaker.
HBO/DC Studios

We are pretty sure we don’t wanna taste it, but we do want more Peacemaker on our screens. Three years later, we are finally catching back up with the very unserious Christopher Smith and Eagly to see what ridiculous stuff is going down.

When & Where to Watch: August 2025 on Max

October 2025 TV Shows

Marvel Zombies

Zombie Thanos from Marvel Zombies
Marvel Studios

The Marvel Comics book series is finally making its way to the small screen! The show follows a band of survivors who are battling former heroes and villains who have been turned into zombies.

When & Where to Watch: October 2025 on Disney+

December 2025 TV Shows

Wonder Man

Yayha Abdul-Mateen is going from being an Aquaman foe to an actor who wants to play a hero and then becomes said hero. The first very unserious look at a teaser trailer makes us all in, even if we aren’t totally sure where this journey is going.

When & Where to Watch: December 2025 on Disney+

One Piece (Season 2)

It’s time (well, almost time) to take to the seas again with Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates! Netflix’s One Piece adaptation was a surprise delight for us in 2023 so we cannot wait to see where this adventure takes us next.

When & Where to Watch: December 2025 on Netflix.

TV Shows Coming Out and (Maybe) Returning at Some Point (Or With A General Release Window) in 2025

The Last of Us (Season 2)

The Last of Us left us on quite the emotional cliffhanger with Joel separated from Ellie. Next season already has us on edge, especially with the knowledge that Abby is coming to the screen. The Last of Us has given us a peek into season two but sadly not a firmer release window at this time.

When & Where to Watch: Spring 2025 on Max

Alien: Earth

The Alien universe continues to expand with Noah Hawley’s Alien: Earth series, which takes place two years before the events of the original Alien movie. A vessel crash lands on Earth and, well, it is not a good thing at all.

When & Where to Watch: Summer 2025 on FX and Hulu

Interview with the Vampire (Season 3)

Armand (Assad Zaman) in 1940s Paris in Interview with the Vampire season two.
AMC Networks

Our favorite sexy vampire series just wrapped up its second season not too long ago, but we are already gearing up for another round. Right now, it does still seem this series will arrive in 2025 but, as we know, delays can and do happen with television. We just hope Armand graces our screens sooner rather than later.

When & Where to Watch: Fall/Late 2025 on AMC and AMC+

Wednesday (Season 2)

Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams with her arms crossed in front of stairs leading to an archway
Netflix

The return to Nevermore Academy is almost here and there’s a lot to explore with our favorite quippy Addams family member. After the events of last season, we know that someone is keeping their eyes on her. Who could it be? What’s Enid been up to? What other dark secrets lie in the halls of a school we wish we could attend right now? We shall see this year.

When & Where to Watch: 2025 on Netflix

Stranger Things (Season 5)

Netflix’s biggest and most beloved series is coming to an end after quite the incredible run. This year, we will discover the ultimate fates of Eleven, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Will, Nancy, Jonathan, Dad Steve, and the rest of the Hawkins gang. How will they defeat Vecna for good? Will they be able to save Max? We need answers, Netflix!

When & Where to Watch: 2025 on Netflix

The Sandman (Season 2)

Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death onn Netflix's The Sandman
Netflix

Yes, it does seem that Netflix wants to hide its release dates from us for some reason. The Sandman’s first season set up so many winding threads and intrigue that we are anxiously waiting for more. We will meet several new characters, including Odin, Loki, and Thor. (No, not the MCU ones, be serious.)

When & Where to Watch: 2025 on Netflix

IT: Welcome to Derry

welcome to derry image of a girl covered in blood and someone with a sinister smile
Max

The prequel IT TV series will take us to Derry and uncover the origins of Pennywise. We still don’t know too much about it at this point, but ya really can’t go wrong with this world. A clown terrorizing kids was such a smart concept, thank you Stephen King.

When & Where to Watch: 2025 on HBO and Max

Percy Jackson and the Olympians (Season 2)

This season will adapt the second book of the series, The Sea of Monsters, and we are down for all the epic action. The first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians did an excellent job building the live-action universe’s foundation and honoring its source material, so let’s see what we get in this round.

When & Where to Watch: 2025 on Disney+

Anne Rice’s The Talamasca

Anne Rice's The Talamasca star Nicholas Denton.
AMC Networks

The third series in this Immortal Universe is on the way this year. (It’s a big year in this universe for real!) The Talamasca will dive into the infamous secret society from Rice’s Mayfair Witches and Vampire Chronicles series. We cannot wait to see this drop in 2025.
