M3GAN 2.0 Trailer Shows Our Fave Murder Doll Meeting Her Killing Machine Match

M3GAN did it again, y’all. That murderous doll who took over 2023 with her dance moves and thirst for blood isn’t done yet. We’ve known that a M3GAN sequel, aptly titled M3GAN 2.0, was coming for a while and now we finally have a trailer for it. Any doubts that we had about whether this sequel was necessary or would be any good are now gone. It captures the wit and campy drama that we want to see in another film. It looks like we could have a franchise on our hands.

Starting the trailer off with M3GAN herself reflecting on the first film while Boyz II Men’s “Yesterday” plays in the background is hilarious. She admits that there were a few bugs in her programming, but that’s not really her fault.

And it is not because Gemma is really the villain, at least in my humble opinion. It is even funnier that this clip also uses Britney Spears’ “Oops, I Did It Again” for this sequel. What a perfect choice.

In the trailer for M3GAN 2.0, we discover that there’s a new murder bot in town and she’s more realistic and deadly than ever.

Here’s a very long synopsis for M3GAN 2.0:

Two years after M3GAN, a marvel of artificial intelligence, went rogue and embarked on a murderous (and impeccably choreographed) rampage and was subsequently destroyed, M3GAN’s creator Gemma (Allison Williams) has become a high-profile author and advocate for government oversight of A.I. Meanwhile, Gemma’s niece Cady (Violet McGraw), now 14, has become a teenager, rebelling against Gemma’s overprotective rules.

Unbeknownst to them, the underlying tech for M3GAN has been stolen and misused by a powerful defense contractor to create a military-grade weapon known as Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno; Ahsoka, Pacific Rim: Uprising), the ultimate killer infiltration spy. But as Amelia’s self-awareness increases, she becomes decidedly less interested in taking orders from humans. Or in keeping them around.

With the future of human existence on the line, Gemma realizes that the only option is to resurrect M3GAN (Amie Donald, voiced by Jenna Davis) and give her a few upgrades, making her faster, stronger, and more lethal. As their paths collide, the original A.I bitch is about to meet her match.

What Is the Release Date for M3GAN 2.0?

Well alrighty then! M3GAN 2.0 will dance into theaters on June 27.
