What is Masquerade? Well, the truth is, this The Phantom of the Opera immersive theater performance has been incredibly mysterious. Over the spring months, marketing for the show intensified, manifesting in a series of very cool immersive experiences and trinket drops that happened throughout the streets of New York City. Masquerade will take place in an NYC building that used to house Lee’s Art Shop on West 57th Street, which promises an elaborate and multi-floored setting for the immersive Phantom performance.
As best we can tell, Masquerade will contain all the songs of The Phantom of the Opera, but might take the shape of a haunted house-like experience, where guests walk through the scenes of the show.
