Long before Chris Hemsworth wielded Mjölnir as the mighty Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he was making home videos to sharpen his acting skills. We all have to start somewhere when it comes to our dreams, right? But, one of Hemsworth’s earliest acting clips is rather surprising and heartwarming. In his new documentary, Chris Hemsworth shared a home video of him impersonating the late and great Steve Irwin.
He shared the snippet on social media with fans of him pretending to be the famed animal advocate and conservationist. “My first self-appointed, unofficial acting gig. I drew inspiration from one of my heroes, the crocodile hunter himself,” Hemsworth wrote. In the clip, Hemsworth pretends to be Irwin as he tracks down a Siberian Australian Fox, which is actually just the family dog. It’s incredibly sweet considering that Hemsworth and Irwin are both Australian.
The best part is that Irwin’s son Robert commented and said that his father would have been “stoked” about this video. Steve Irwin died in 2006 from a stingray injury, several years before Chris Hemsworth came into the MCU and gained worldwide fame.
