The long-awaited first trailer for Michael, a biopic about the late pop star Michael Jackson (you may have heard of him) is finally here. For months, there’s been a lot of anticipation swirling around this film for several reasons. Outside of the obvious global love for quite possibly one of the most famous people to ever exist, Michael’s own nephew Jafaar Jackson portrays him. And I must say, there are a few angles in this clip where he really resembles his very famous uncle.
We get a small glimpse of Michael Jackson in the studio with the famous Quincy Jones (Kendrick Sampson) as he records “Wanna Be Startin’ Something.” But, the Michael biopic will not only span his singing career from childhood through his death in 2009. It will dive into the person behind the massive fame and presumably some of the controversies and challenges that happened along the way.

Highlighting both his life off-stage and some of the most iconic performances from his early solo career, the film gives audiences a front-row seat to Michael Jackson as never before. This is where his story begins.
What Is the Release Date for the Michael Biopic Film?
The film is directed by Antoine Fuqua and also stars Nia Long, Laura Harrier, Juliano Krue Valdi, Sinners’ actor Miles Teller, and Colman Domingo. It will release in theaters on April 24, 2026.
