Our latest look at The Vampire Lestat, “leaked” to fans by Eric Bogosian, is a doozy. We’ve loved every single one of The Vampire Lestat‘s trailers, but this one is by far one of the best crafted. It really lays out for us the project of The Vampire Lestat. Lestat is laying his life out through his music and it’s about HIS story and how he wants to tell it, so it doesn’t matter what the fans think. We glimpse his childhood woes, his incestuous overtures with his mother (the womb is not the vagina, okay?), his early loves, and various mistakes. We see Lestat’s obsession with the idea that he can’t die. (… Which may or may not be true… Gulp.) And we see a glimpse of many faces, familiar and not, that we’ve been hoping to see. This The Vampire Lestat teaser trailer gives us new Armand, Claudia, Nicki, and… IS that Akasha? Strap on kids, it’s going to be a MESSY ride.
Fu*k it, indeed. What’s an immortal to do but wail his life’s story into the world? Will it end well? Probably not. But that doesn’t really matter because we’re still stuck on the image of Armand in the middle of a rollicking crowd. We do love Armand.
Claudia, too, makes an appearance in this The Vampire Lestat trailer, and we’re curious to see how she’ll fit into the narrative going forward. And, of course, those menacing, powerful fingers at the end of it all. Could that be the long-anticipated character of Akasha finally gracing our screens? We know the wonderful Sheila Atim will play her, and we can’t wait to learn more.
The synopsis for The Vampire Lestat promises, “In the upcoming rock and roll centric season, the Vampire Lestat goes on an electric multi-city tour while being haunted by “muses” from his wild and rebellious past. As his band’s popularity and star power rises, so does Lestat’s influence over vampires and humans alike, leaving others to contend with Lestat’s power in the face of the Great Conversion, an unnatural surge in the vampire population. In addition to Reid, The Vampire Lestat stars Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian, Delainey Hayles and Jennifer Ehle and is executive produced by award-winning producer Mark Johnson, creator, writer and showrunner Rolin Jones, Hannah Moscovitch, along with Christopher Rice and the late Anne Rice.“
The series premieres on June 7, 2026.
