LEGO Should Make ALL of These POKÉMON Ideas Sets

Come on, LEGO, don’t make us choose! It’s already been hard enough to narrow down everyone’s BRILLIANT Pokémon LEGO Ideas sets from nearly 800 (756) down to six. And now, these six fan-originated Pokémon sets are down to a final vote. But Pokémon fans want them ALL. From the adorable, effervescent Mew, to fan-favorite Gyarados, to the WILDLY cool mythical Arceus, these potential LEGO Ideas sets are all works of meticulous craft and great devotion. The mission of these builders was to redesign Pokémon cards into LEGO builds and they CRUSHED it. (Even the Joltik LEGO set, which we may not have ordinarily gone for, truly wows us!) But we suppose… This time, we won’t be able to catch them all, and only one can win. But whichever takes the prize, we know they’ll fit in just right with the already existing LEGO Pokémon sets out there. You can take a look at the entrants below.

All of These Six LEGO Pokémon Ideas Sets Should Turn Into Real Builds

New Pokémon LEGO Ideas Set—Gyarados: Sunset Splash

Here’s what creator CreativeDynamicBuilder had to share about their Gyarados LEGO Ideas Pokémon set:

Gyarados is one of my favorite Pokémon and has been for a while; therefore, I wanted to do it justice when building him. I worked hard to get every detail as perfect as possible.

The head of Gyarados took me an entire week to make because I wanted it to look as accurate and detailed as possible. Gyarados is partially 2D and 3D, with his head being 3D, and his neck slowly transitions to 2D to give off the impression that he’s coming out of the card.

I worked really hard to make the water as beautiful and realistic as possible while also giving it a painted feel to make it look like a piece of art, which was not easy to do. I experimented with many different pieces and techniques until I finally landed on a design that I liked. I also made some water spill over the border of the card to provide some stability for the build.

The entire build is 1,262 pieces and took me 3 weeks to build. I’m very happy with how it turned out and hope you like it too!

We absolutely do! Gyarados has always won fans’ hearts and minds across the Pokémon generations. It would make a lot of sense to turn this mighty Pokémon (who hails from humble Magikarp beginnings) into a new LEGO set. This one would look really nice sitting next to the LEGO Pokémon Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise that’s already out there.

New Pokémon LEGO Ideas Set—The Mythical Arceus

LivetoBuild revealed the following insights into their Pokémon Arceus LEGO build:

“It is told in mythology that this Pokémon was born before the universe even existed.”

An intense blast of energy is unleashed as Arceus emerges from a Pokéball. As Arceus flies past stars, galaxies, planets, and nebulae with grace and agility, it watches over the universe.

The Mythical Arceus features fully articulated legs and a poseable head, allowing you to recreate dynamic poses, scenes, and attacks. Arceus can easily be removed from the card, allowing it to stand on its own for even more display and posing possibilities. The Pokéball base serves as a unique and dynamic display stand while representing the card back logo.

If you would love to see this model become a real set as much as I do, your support and comments are always greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

This model features 999 pieces.

We love the life and motion in the LEGO Ideas creation. And Arceus is such an extraordinarily beautiful Pokémon. We are definitely rooting for this one.

New Pokémon LEGO Ideas Set—A Mew Soaring High

IsleOh went for a Mew LEGO Ideas Pokémon set, complete with open and closed eyes and lots of pink bubbles. Here’s what they had to offer about their design:

#0151 Mew – The New Species Pokémon, Psychic-type

This is my interpretation of a Mew in brick-form! Few Pokémon are as iconic as the original Mythical, so I thought making a submission using this little guy was a no-brainer!

Embracing my inner card-designer, I attempted a vivid depiction of Mew floating among the clouds high above a countryside scene below. The landscape takes inspiration from various routes from the main-series games as I was trying to evoke the sense of exploration synonymous with the franchise. A small town is neatly situated on one side of the calm river. On the other side, windmills line a winding path that most definitely will lead to some eager Trainers and Wild Pokémon.

I really liked the look of Mew laughing among the psychic energy bubbles it had created, but I also included some alternate open eyes that give Mew a completely new expression.

I hope you like my submission!

Mew IS a no-brainer. As our personal favorite Pokémon, we have to root for this LEGO Ideas submission to win. No one is more deserving of Mew than a Pokémon set.

New Pokémon LEGO Ideas Set—Rowlet Razor Leaf

DMWM revealed the following about their potential Rowlet set and the reasoning they had for choosing this specific entry:

Although Rowlet is often seen as a cute, derpy little Pokémon, I wanted to show a different side of him in this creation: his fierce battle spirit. That contrast is exactly what inspired me. Building Rowlet in LEGO was a fun but tricky puzzle, especially capturing his recognizable shape and expression in brick form. Instead of showing his usual goofy charm, I chose to depict him in the middle of a Razor Leaf attack, focused and ready for battle. To complete the scene, I gave him a forest-inspired background that fits his natural habitat and adds extra energy and atmosphere to the card. It brings the whole build to life and helps show Rowlet not just as adorable, but also as a strong and determined battler.

Listen, Rowlet might not have the glam of the other Pokémon on this list, but we enjoy DMWM’s reasoning for why it deserves its own LEGO set. LEGO is constantly asking us to look at things from a new perspective and that’s exactly what this potential build does to perfection.

New Pokémon LEGO Ideas Set—⚡ Joltik Charges Up! ⚡

LEGO

Last, but not least, not this time, is Chrixeleon’s Joltik LEGO creation. Like we said, Joltik… not our first choice. But this build is absolutely looking good!

Joltik bursts through the wall and nibbles wires to absorb electrical energy! 🔌

I chose Joltik because I love Electric types and figured it was a less popular choice from the allowed Pokémon list. For this build, I was inspired by Joltik’s original Pokédex entry in Pokémon Black Version“Joltik that live in cities have learned a technique for sucking electricity from the outlets in houses.” I also wanted it to clearly read as a playable card, so I included key gameplay information like HP, type, an attack, etc.

Joltik itself is also fully removable and features posable legs. At an estimated 5.5″/14 cm tall and almost 1 lb/404 g, this Joltik is very close to its in-game Pokédex size! Other details I included were a slanted Poké Ball adorned wall with electrical outlet and frayed wires (some with particularly-colored interior bits).

I’ve never attempted a challenge like this before, but as a lifelong LEGO and Pokémon fan I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. I hope you like my entry!

We do love a challenge, and this super intricate Joltik LEGO build. The callback to Pokémon Black also has us impressed. Clearly, a lot of true love went in to this Pokémon LEGO Ideas build. And that counts for a ton in our book. If Joltik gets made, he’ll join Pikachu as the second electric Pokémon to get a LEGO set.
