LEGO’s First-Ever GODZILLA Set Is a Titan-Sized Collectible

LEGO Ideas is, appropriately, home to some big ideas. For a myriad of reasons not all of those fan submissions make it to shelves, though, so those that do tend to be the best of the best. But the latest to go all the way is also the biggest of the big. LEGO has announced its first-ever Godzilla set, a Titan-sized collectible that stands more than two feet tall.

Kaiju and LEGO enthusiasts alike have reason to celebrate today. The LEGO Group has revealed that Godzilla from Legendary’s Monsterverse is the first iteration of the iconic cinematic monster to get his own set from the toy company. It’s also the biggest LEGO Ideas release ever.

Originally submitted to LEGO Ideas by fan designer Matthew Esposito way back in December 2023, the final form of the 5,363-piece Godzilla set is enormous. When finished with its Heat Ray (instead of its tongue), it stands 27.5-inches tall, 10.5-inches wide, and 15.5-inches long.

How tall is that exactly? LEGO notes that a standard minifig only reaches up to Godzilla’s ankle. The set also boasts “textured scaly skin, jagged dorsal fins and a sweeping tail.” It also comes with adjustable shoulders, elbows, wrists and fingers to you can pose the King of the Monsters how you like.

How Much Does LEGO Godzilla Cost and When Does It Release?

No surprise that a giant LEGO Godzilla set comes with a giant price tag of $449.99 in the U.S. It will also go on sale just after Thanksgiving on November 27. You can get yours at LEGO Stores and LEGO.com. Some lucky fans who purchase theirs between the 27th to the 30th will also get a fun bonus. They’ll nab a LEGO Ideas Godzilla Logo and Footprint while supplies last.

We don’t think these Godzilla builds will last long. This was a big idea for a big boy who was long overdue to get his own set. The market for LEGO Godzilla is going to, appropriately, be big.
