In a one-on-one interview with CNN Philippines Senior Anchor Pinky Webb on Thursday, Duterte said terror groups — specifically the Maute — are “driven by drugs.”
“They want money for their uprising. To sustain it. And they’re (inaudible) drugs. We have terrorism, which is being fed with drugs,” President Duterte.
The President said the country is in the midst of a terror threat that is spreading through the country, even in Luzon.
“I was briefed by the military and the police, napakalawak talaga. Problem is it’s connected with an international operations. It’s everywhere,” he said.
