McDonald’s, Nagbigay na ng Statement Tungkol sa Kinasasangkutang Isyu Tungkol sa Nag Viral na Jollibee Post

Kamakailan lang ay kalat na kalat sa social media ang ilan sa mga post ng mga netizen tungkol sa kontrobersyal na isyu tungkol sa isang “towel fried chicken” na inireklamo ng isang na kinasasangkutan ng katunggali nito na Jollibee.

Nilinaw naman ng McDonald’s Philippines PR and Communications Senior Manager na si Adi Timbol Hernandez:

McDonald’s Philippines did not and would not produce or release any disparaging material against any brand.

To reiterate, this piece of content was not made by McDonald’s Philippines and was never posted on any of the brand’s digital assets.

Dahil sa mabilis makakuha ng mga balita at impormasyon sa social media, mabilis itong kumalat at marami ang naniniwalang mga netizen na sa McDonalds nanggaling ang nasabing post.

Sa kabilang banda, patuloy pa rin pinag-uusapan ng mga netizen ang kontrobersyal ng isyu ng Jollibee matapos ang nag viral na post ng isang netizen na mabilis kumalat ang kanyang post patungkol sa kanyang pagrereklamo sa order niya mula sa Jollibee.

Sa post ni Alique Perez, ibinahagi ni Alique ang larawan at video na nagpapakitang sa halip na friend chicken ay “fried towel” ang nakuha niya sa kanyang inorder sa Jollibee.

“Just something that frustrated me this late.We had Jollibee delivered by grab. Ordered chicken for my son, while I was trying to get him a bite, I found it super hard to even slice. Tried opening it up with my handas and to my surprise a deep fried towel.”

“This is really disturbing...How the hell do you get the towel in the batter and even fry it?!? Yung totoo?’

“I really thought thaat the post complaining about weird stuff in their orders were just all made up, now I know that it really happens! So disgusting and embarassing...to think that you’re even branched in BGC. There’s a first for everything. And this has been teh worst first!”

“Calming myself down for this...But WTH.”

“Now I can’t even think of the other chickenjoys na kasama while frying this. Having the same oil for how many hours after frying this FRIED TOWEL.”

“Ano po kaya kasabay ng mga chickenjoy natin? You may get your chickenjoy pero baka may kasabay nang towel. The essence of the towel contaminated the oil and the batter from the supplier so how many chickenjoys are affected? We won’t know…”

Hindi naman ito pinalampas ng nasabing branch at agad sila naglabas ng kanilang statement laban sa isyung ipnataw sa kanila.

“This concerns the customer complaint on food ordered late evening of June 1 from a franchised store in Bonifacio Global City. We are deeply concerned about this matter and have conducted a thorough investigation on the incident. It is unfortunate that deviations from Jollibee’s standard food preparation procedures occurred on the part of certain personnel of the store.

Ipinag utos din nito ang pansamantalang pagsara ng branch alinsunod sa patakaran at batas.

“As a result of this incident, we have directed the Jollibee Bonifacio-- Stop Over branch to close for three days starting tomorrow, June 3, to thoroughly review its compliance, with procedures and retrain its store team to ensure that this will not happen again. We will also send out reminders to all stores to ensure the strict adherence to Jollibee’s food preparation systems.

“Jollibee has carefully developed and complied with food preparation systems to ensure that we deliver excellent quuality products and customer satisfaction. We will continue to endeavor to deliver on the high standards we have set for ourselves and pur franchisees.”
