The leader of the X-Men is a figure of great gravitas. And when Professor X arrived in the MCU, appearing as a member of the Illuminati in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it was to much fan excitement and cheer. Professor Charles Xavier, so often depicted by Sir Patrick Stewart, is known for many things, but letting his hair down isn’t really one of them. And that, my friends, is why the internet exists. In a hilarious viral fan edit, a visual effects artist reimagined Professor X’s MCU entrance. And it goes just a little bit differently. This time, Professor X floors the Illuminati and Doctor Strange with his slick moves.
This MCU edit stars Professor X as “The Coolest Grandpa Alive” and its put together by
Jonkari P, a VFX artist and meme creator. This talented artist even put Deadpool into Spider-Man: No Way Home.
This edit is inspired, but honestly, the MCU made a great choice when it gave Professor X his yellow hover-chair from X-Men: The Animated Series. It really feels believable that Professor X can break into a series of moves that would make Tony Hawk jealous. Doctor Strange also seems jealous to us. The rest of the Illuminati, including John Krasinski’s Mister Fantastic and Lashana Lynch’s Captain Marvel are less than impressed, though. But hey, don’t hate the player!
Unfortunately, this version of Charles Xavier didn’t get to stick around for very long. And it’s not clear if Professor X will return to the MCU. But if he does, we have to strongly encourage he pull out some of these tricks in canon. They’ll definitely add to any scene their in. Although we don’t think Patrick Stewart would really enjoy it, he is open to playing more Professor X. He had a hard enough time just bringing it to a stop while filming the movie. But hey, that’s where the VFX come in.
