Game of Thrones’ finale didn’t mean the end of the franchise’s time on HBO. It was just the start. The network’s first spinoff series, House of the Dragon, debuts very soon. And the network already has a litany of other projects from George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire under development. What is dead may never die, indeed. But soon, the small screen won’t be the only place fans of Westeros will be able to get their Seven Kingdoms fix. Warner Bros. and HBO have announced their first official Game of Thrones convention. Although this Game of Thrones convention was delayed for a time because of COVID, it is now officially back in action and heading to Los Angeles. The con will take place December 9-11 of this year, and it will be even more star-studded and action-packed than before.
The Game of Thrones Official Fan Convention, originally scheduled for February 2022, will hold its inaugural event at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Running for three days, the con is a joint venture between Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment and Creation Entertainment. The official release shares:
With less than one month to go until the highly anticipated premiere of the new HBO series House of the Dragon, the successor series to Game of Thrones, Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment and Creation Entertainment are thrilled to announce today the new date, location, and star-studded line-up for the first ever Game of Thrones Official Fan Convention. The exciting new addition of Kit Harington (“Jon Snow”) will be joining the previously announced Game of Thrones series stars, including Alfie Allen (“Theon Greyjoy”), Jack Gleeson (“Joffrey Baratheon”), Kristofer Hivju (“Tormund Giantsbane”), Kristian Nairn (“Hodor”), Daniel Portman (“Podrick Payne”), Gemma Whelan (“Yara Greyjoy”), and Isaac Hempstead Wright (“Bran Stark”) on December 9-11 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Overall, it’s a great time to be a Game of Thrones fan. From House of the Dragon around the corner to this convention waiting in the wings, there’s a lot for everyone to celebrate. In addition to its celebrity guests, it sounds like this GOT convention will also be a great place for fans to add some exclusive collectibles and other merchandise to their collections. Not to mention, the convention offers the perfect opportunity to meet other fans.
The release further shares:
Guests will also have a chance to win great prizes during cosplay and trivia competitions and shop for exclusive merchandise on an action-packed show floor.
