LEGO OCARINA OF TIME Set Hits Us Right in the N64 Heart

LEGO has always been a winner with kids ages three to one million. Spaceships, racecars, pirate ships, all bangers. But when the company started licensing intellectual property—and by this point, they’ve made it their stock in trade—LEGO became the perfect toy. In the past several years, amid all of their movie and TV licenses, LEGO has optioned Nintendo’s beloved Super Mario Bros. franchise to huge success. But what of us ’90s kids? Those of us who grew up with Nintendo 64. Well, we got one recently of the Deku Tree. But what else? Surely we haven’t been catered to this week. Well, how about another Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time LEGO set?

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time – The Final Battle set dramatizes the—go figure—final battle of the classic game, the fifth game in the long-running fantasy series. We get minifigures of Link, Zelda, Ganondorf, and an extra small Navi. Shame we don’t get the sound of Navi telling us to listen. We love being annoyed while building LEGO. The set itself has a crumbling castle while the star of the show is a scale (ha) buildable Ganon beast. Those horns and swords look incredible.
