And here’s the official synopsis for Shadow Lord from Lucasfilm:
Set after the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, this pulpy adventure finds Maul plotting to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire. There, he crosses paths with a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan who could be the apprentice he is seeking to aid him in his relentless pursuit for revenge.
Maul: Shadow Lord focuses on the former Sith Lord’s journey from discarded warrior to head of an intergalactic crime syndicate. Fans might remember that in Solo, he led Crimson Dawn, a position he lost at some point before Rebels. This series will likely cover that climb to power. Sam Witwer, who voiced Maul in both The Clone Wars series and Star Wars Rebels, returns to play the character. The series is the brainchild of new Lucasfilm co-president Dave Filoni.
Sam Witwer is joined by Gideon Adlon as Devon Izara, Wagner Moura as Brander Lawson, Richard Ayoade as Two-Boots, and Dennis Haysbert as Master Eeko-Dio-Daki. Also in the supporting cast is Chris Diamantopoulos as Looti Vario, Charlie Bushnell as Rylee Lawson, Rebels’ Vanessa Marshall as Rook Kast, David C. Collins as Spybot, A.J. LoCascio as the Inquisitor Marrok, and Steve Blum as Icarus.
Episodes one and two of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord debut on April 6 on Disney+.
