No alien race in the Star Trek canon is more popular than the Klingons. No, not even the Vulcans. First introduced as bad guys in the original series, it was the heroic Klingon Worf in Star Trek: The Next Generation who really catapulted the alien warriors into their own fandom. An entire Klingon language was developed, and many eager fans have actually learned to speak it. Since then, we’ve had Klingon opera, Klingon Shakespeare, and now… Disney Klingons? Via Laughing Squid, we’ve learned about one fan in Seattle named Princess Jackie, who performed all of “Let it Go” from Frozen in full Klingon and Elsa attire. You can watch her performance from Emerald City Comic Con below:
Princess Jackie won the Emerald City Comic Con talent show singing “Let it Go,” and deservedly so. She definitely did honor to her ancestors and the great warrior Kahless. But we have to wonder, is Princess Jackie playing Elsa or is it El’sah? That seems like the proper Klingon way to spell her name. And what noble house does she belong to? Her skills are strong enough that we nominate her for the House of Mogh, standing alongside Worf. Jackie portrayed the rare albino Klingon in Star Trek lore. We met one in Star Trek: Discovery, so we know they exist out there.
The existence of a Klingon Elsa suggests that other Disney Klingons exist. We kind of think that the Beast from Beauty and the Beast has Klingon vibes already. And Mulan gives us Klingon warrior energy, too. If Princess Jackie were to tackle some other Klingon translations of Disney tunes, we’re all for it. Just as long as it’s not “It’s a Small World.” That one already drives us nuts sung in human languages, so no need to add Klingon grunts into the mix, too. We’re all good here.
