Marvel and Sony’s Spider-Man trilogy made Peter Parker one of the most famous superheroes in the world. It ended with no one knowing who he is. He sacrificed his identity and happiness to save everyone. Not even those he loves most remember him. That’s exactly what the two studios want fans to remember ahead of his next big screen outing. Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s final trailer takes a look back at how Tom Holland’s Peter ended up a forgotten man before it turning its attention to an all new threat.
Peter’s past haunts the first part of Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s last trailer. We see moments of both joy and loss from his previous films. A mysterious, unseen figure haunts the latter half, as a dangerous force only he remains impervious to threatens all of New York. And he’ll be dealing with both what he lost and what he must stop while undergoing some big changes. Here’s the film’s official synopsis from Marvel and Sony:
It’s a Brand New Day for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him—and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him—sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves – a powerful villain no one can even see. The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn’t forgotten them.
This trailer also includes that sad Greek cup of coffee from No Way Home. It’s a fun reference to The Odyssey, which also stars Tom Holland and Zendaya. Marvel had the foresight to put that cup in years before Chris Nolan even announced he was adapting the epic poem let alone cast those two. That makes it the greatest Easter egg in movie history.
Will Peter Parker’s haunted past hold him back from moving forward? Or will he make his way back to his loved ones just as Odysseus did? We’ll find out when Spider-Man: Brand New Day—directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and also starring Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo—swings into theaters on July 31, 2026.
