The Mickey Mouse Club and its ’90s version, The All-New Mickey Mouse Club, are significant in Disney’s history. In the 1920s, it was a stage show. Starting in 1955, The Mickey Mouse Club was a variety show that allowed kids, or “Mouseketeers,” to showcase their talent on air. It was the start of many a career, serving as the breakout gig for Ryan Gosling, Christina Aguilera, and Britney Spears, among others.
Now, the classic is getting another reboot. According to Deadline, Disney+ has ordered a pilot episode to gauge interest. The initial episode will feature 11 all-new Mouseketeers, some of whom have starred in Disney’s content before.

Three members of the new cast will also star in the upcoming Camp Rock 3 from Disney. Others appeared in Young Rock, The Lion King, Black Rabbit, and Elio.
“[The show will be a] showcase for today’s most talented young performers, where music, innovation, and self-expression take center stage,” said Disney.
In past iterations, the variety show often included singing and dancing among other daily themes. Now, who is to say what talents the performers will display?
Fulwell Entertainment will be handling the project. The company is best known for its work on The Kardashians. The pilot episode will be executive-produced by the co-founder of Fulwell, Ben Winston. Winston also executive-produced The Late Late Show with James Corden.
Various members of the 90s Mickey Mouse Club went on to have very successful acting and music careers. From Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake becoming huge names in 90s and early-2000s pop music, to Ryan Gosling’s still-thriving acting career.
Whether or not this version of the show will spark such culturally iconic careers and moments remains to be seen. The 11 cast members will all bring something new and different to the rebooted show, to be sure.
