SUPERGIRL: THE WORLD Anthology Takes Kara Zor-El Global

Last year was the unofficial Summer of Superman, when the Man of Steel returned in James Gunn’s big-screen hit. So it’s only fair that 2026 give us the “Summer of Supergirl,” when Milly Alcock’s Kara Zor-El headlines her first solo movie in four decades. As a way of celebrating the Maid of Might’s return to cinemas, DC Comics has announced a new hardcover anthology spotlighting Kara through stories by writers and artists from 15 different countries. Titled Supergirl: The World, this new anthology book arrives worldwide on June 2, 2026. It invites readers to experience the iconic heroine through the lens of several cultures that span the globe. You can check out the first images down below:

Supergirl: The World is similar to international DC anthologies Batman: The World and Joker: The World. The stories contained in this new collection bring the Last Daughter of Krypton to Germany, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina. Other countries include Cameroon, France, Poland, Turkey, Finland, Colombia, Serbia, Japan, and the United States. According to DC Comics, “Each region contributes an original story that reflects its own voice, artistic style, and cultural perspective, creating a global mosaic of what Supergirl represents to fans everywhere.” This is the perfect way to reacquaint yourself with the character right before her movie releases in theaters, also in June.

And here’s the official synopsis for Supergirl: The World from DC Comics:
